  Department of Physical Chemistry has accreditation for teaching in all levels of education (bachelorship level and master level valid until July 20, 2007; PhD level valid until July 20, 2005).

  The Department staff members deal with four programs of scientific research:

Study of kinetics and mechanism of reactions with heterogeneous catalysis in gas phase inclusive of characterisation of oxide and zeolitic catalysts.

Chemism and technology of re-esterification of plant oils and animal fats, production of bio-diesel, bio-transformations of substances by immobilised micro-organisms.

Enzymatic catalysis - research into new inhibitors of hydrolysis of enzymes as potential medical drugs for Alzheimer disease.

Study of structural relaxation of non-crystalline materials and crystallisation kinetics in strongly under-cooled glass-forming liquids.
